MY APPROACH

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia(CBT-I)

CBT-I, is centered on changing behaviors. When it comes to insomnia, this means developing routines that encourage better sleep. While many of these strategies may already be familiar to you, for some reason, they may not have provided the expected results. That's where I come in as your insomnia coach. Together, we'll apply the principles of CBT-I to explore how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influencing your sleep. We'll also work on harnessing your body's natural sleep mechanisms to improve the quality of your rest.

The therapy is delivered virtually between 4—6 sessions, each session is personalized to address your specific needs and circumstances. As your Sleep Coach, I am committed to offering a safe, non-prescription approach to treating behavioral sleep disorders, with a focus on achieving results.

That said, CBT-I isn’t a quick fix. Like any new approach, it requires consistent effort and patience to see results. Starting with a few manageable changes can be more effective than trying to tackle too many at once, which can be overwhelming and counterproductive.

What if I have another sleep disorder

As a Somnologist, I have extensive experience with various sleep disorders and a deep understanding of diagnostic procedures and current treatment options. Our initial visit will provide a foundation for shaping our therapy approach. While I am not able to diagnose or treat sleep disorders that require prescription medication, I can offer guidance on potential concerns and recommend next steps for further investigation. This may include referral guidance for additional care.

Let me know how I can help you.
